Our School

Overcoming Adversity

At the Leila C. Saad SABIS® School El‑Metn, adversity is not an obstacle, it is the beginning of transformation. Our students arrive carrying the weight of economic hardship, interrupted schooling, minimal English proficiency, and home environments that offer limited academic support. Yet inside our school, these challenges become catalysts for growth, dignity, and opportunity.

A Model Built for Students Who Need It Most

Founded in 2012 as one of Lebanon’s first tuition‑free private schools, and fully funded by the SABIS® Foundation, the school was designed from the ground up to meet the needs of learners facing the greatest barriers. Every aspect of our model — from diagnostics to teaching systems, technology, student leadership, and parent engagement — is intentionally structured to remove obstacles and rebuild confidence.

Closing Gaps Through Teaching That Works

Students begin with precise SABIS® diagnostic assessments that identify reading, math, and language gaps. Targeted, time-bound intensive programs in English, Math, and Arabic allow learners to catch up during the school day, ensuring equitable access for those who cannot afford external help. We can proudly claim that today, no student remains in an intensive track, a testament to the power of structured, compassionate teaching.

Technology that Amplifies, Not Replaces, Teachers

SABIS® digital platforms, pronunciation tools, and selective-reveal answer keys help students learn independently, build accurate language skills, and receive immediate feedback. Real-time data equips teachers to intervene quickly and effectively.

A Safety Net for Emotional and Social Challenges

Parent education sessions, child‑protection protocols, counseling, and material support (when essential) create a protective environment around every child. Families evolve alongside their children, adopting healthier routines, strengthened discipline, and new aspirations.

Results that Redefine What’s Possible

Despite difficult beginnings, 100% of our graduates have passed national examinations, enrolled in university, and many earned scholarships. Students who once struggled with basic reading now pursue engineering, psychology, business, architecture, and medicine.

This is what overcoming adversity looks like when compassion meets excellence, and when a community chooses to rise together.
